What was the Aztecs sanitation and nutrition like?
Sanitation.
The Aztecs lived in quite a healthy place for they had no working animal and their houses were built a good distance apart. Their personal hygiene was also of a good standard. Many families had a small bath in their houses, the Aztec people washed often using the soap-tree fruits cleansing properties.

Using powered charcoal and salt they clean their teeth, for they had the knowledge that not cleaning them would result in tooth decay. Also they knew to check each other’s hair for lice every once in a while.
Nutrition. The Aztecs nutrition was at a high standard, they ate twice a day, once in the morning, once at night. Through eating insects, like ants, grasshoppers and even sometimes worms they gained protein. Most Aztecs consumed mainly corn and beans on a daily basis. 2 to 3 tortillas with a side of beans was an average Aztec meal.

Gruel (a food containing some type of cereal like oats, wheat, rice etc, boiled in water or milk) made with the amaranth grain was usually served for dinner as it was a quick, easy meal. Nutritionally speaking, the Aztecs didn’t receive many fats or oils in their diets.
